I use enigmatic bursts of radio light, known as Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs), to reveal the hidden gas in the Universe, connecting the physics of gas around galaxies to galaxy formation models, growth of cosmic structure and fundamental parameters of the standard cosmological model.
